Default Cutting Cat out update

Thanks to all over the past few weeks. Cut my cat out last night and love the new sound. Cat out, slip ons installed. New breather and I think I am all set for this year.

Thanks again everyone.

X2...Making it breathe better is always a good thing but you gotta compensate by tuning. Without you will likely run lean which means hotter temps and pops.

Did not tune it yet. I wanted to run it for day or so too see how it reacted. I am getting a ton of decel popping. Tuning seems to be in order.

The deceleration popping is from a lean condition in the idle circuit caused by less restrictive exhaust. Most will do that if you change just the exhaust. With a tuner, adding 5-8% more fuel in the 0-1500rpm column will all but eliminate it.

You edited your post; I edited my response

Decel popping and burbling is a creation of fuel entering the exhaust under off throttle conditions; when the AFR is right it burns off in the hot exhaust; adding fuel in off throttle situations will alter the AFR and prevent the popping and burbling, as Tucci has now posted...
