Front end shimmy fixed

Front end shimmy fixed
I thought I would post this to help anyone who might be having the same issues. The bike is a '05 FXD with about 6500 miles on it. The bike developed a shimmy in the front end at speeds between 30 to 48 mph, on decel with no hands on the bars. I'm not sure when it started as this is my wifes bike and like I said, it only happens with your hands off the bars, and my wife doesn't really remove her hands from the bars all that often.
I checked the fall away in the front end, seemed a little loose, so I tightened it up. Shimmy still there. Next, checked the rear wheel alignment, OK. Tire pressure was good. Front axle torque, ok, and had the front wheel re-balanced. None of this helped. Next up was put a new front tire on. I replaced the old Dunlop with a new one. The shimmy was gone. The tire still looked good and didn't have that many miles on it.
Thanks to everyone who had a suggestion in the old posts I searched.
