Default FXDP tires

Haven't posted in a while, but have a question to the other guys with FXDP's. I'm in need of a new rear tire and I keep getting contradictions about the sizes. It has an Mt on it right now, but I wanna go with a 150 shinko. A buddy told me it won't work because of the belt width on the defenders. Have any of you guys swapped out to a 150 without going chain drive? Thanks.

I'm still new but I thought I read all earlier TC dynas had a 1.5" Wide belt and some year they changed to a 1.25"?

Not sure if that helps

I measured mine this morning and it's 1.25". So I think I should be good to go for a 150?

Yeah actually I'm 1000% sure 150 is the stock size. My DX has the same tire size.

Yea, I have a 150 (Commander II) on my '04 FXDP with stock fender/belt/pulley. No problems at all. Fits fine, room to spare.

The MT90B1671H (Dunlop D402PT) was the stock police tire. I think it was about a 135 series tire. Personally, I wish I had the original police-issue tires back! Weren't great for cornering, but sure were tough & would run just fine with <5lbs of air. Not true run-flats, but close. Really stiff sidewalls! I loved em.

MT90B16 is what was on mine...do yourself a favor and buy something better than Shinko...They work but they aren't that great.
