I've been procrastating on serviceing my cables this year, but after confirming I would need to take my exhaust off to replace my clutch cable, I figure I ought to take care of the one I have.
I used Dri Slide when I put the cables on, and it was what it was, a cable lube. I really didn't think much of it. Over time, there were slight changes in my pull, but I didn't really notice because it was gradual over a years time.
I just re-applied the dry-slide two days ago, and what a freakin' difference it made. For you folks with stiff clutch pulls, you really ought to try some of this stuff and see if it helps. You can get it online, but I got mine from the local HD dealership. The little needle that comes with it makes it super easy to apply without having to dismantle all your cable.s
Got some at the stealer - can't remember how much, but it looks like it will last for a long time. Worked great for my cables - also works great for stubborn patio door tracks...
That's what most the bike shops around here (Arizona) recommend. Mostly because it's a dry lube. It doesn't leave an oily residue that will attract dust, which is what makes up 99.9% of Arizona.
Just don't get it on anything that you don't want it on. It leaves a nice stain that won't come out.
