I've been dealing with this issue for the last week. the bike will intermittently stall out while cruising. it's like a hiccup and the speedo drops to zero and the bike fires back up and the speedo comes back. I've went through and checked the batter connections and voltage dropped the cables. I've been looking about the web and seen stuff about the vss but I'm not really sure. also there are not codes stored. my indy guy couldn't duplicate the issue and i really don't want to drop it at the dealer because I'm sure they will have it for the rest of the season. any input would be appreciated
forgot to add... i totally can't imagine this is related at all but it started to happen a day after i changed my primary and trans fund from syn3 to redline. again i can imagine theres any connection but figured id add that...also bike has about 10k on it
check your in tank fuel lines as well as the electrical connectors to the fuel injectors, I just went through something very similar and it was the connectors... Check out the thread titled "Anybody replace there in tank fuel line?"
I have a 10 superglidd doing the same thing. Runs greatfor acouple miles the headlight dims. Soon after it starts i missing and the speedometer drops down. If I keep the rpms up it don't do it. It will eventually stall then let it sit for a mi Ute then starts back up no problems. Sometimes it will keep doing this other times it may do it once o twice with in 5 miles. I did find corrosion in the fuse block so I cleaned it and used dielectric grease on fuses. But I did not do that back of the block. I will get that done and see what happens. Does anyone have any other suggestions.
Mine done the exact same thing and it was one of the many body grounds.
I disconnected all grounds and cleaned reinstalled and problem went away.
I could not see any corrosion on anything but it solved my problem.
