Default fxdx front fork options

I have an 03 fxdx that was in a small front end crash. Previous owner replaced the front forks with a single disk style. I would really like to get some stock duel caliper forks back on but they seem to be selling for like 700 bucks. Any other good options for a dual caliper front end? First harley so sorry if I sound stupid

just buy a new lower leg and get it installed

you will need:

39mm right side lower leg
caliper
brake pads
rotor
brake lines

That easer said then done. You need the matching right leg. Do you know what model the forks that are on it now are off of?

Brand?... Odds are they are just OEM sliders (which would Showa, btw)

Post a good photo(s) of that Left Slider... filling the frame with slider, caliper, axle

It also appears to have chrome or polished sliders...which could change some decision making

they do not have the preload/dampening adjustments that the stock fxdx forks had. I will take a couple pictures and post em up

part shown as #35 46022-00

http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....TEERING%20STEM

surdykes price is 220.66 -

https://www.surdyke.com/AdvPartInfo....umber=46022-00

you will still need a rotor and a fork seal kit to install.

these are the model numbers and prices for brand new. you can search ebay and get this stuff for much cheaper. however, i think a new right leg will be better and better priced than what is on ebay right now

  1. slider - 46022-00 - $220.66
  2. caliper - 44023-00A - $187.99
  3. pad kit - 44082-00A - $47.49
  4. caliper brake lines -45194-99- $160
  5. master cylinder 11/16ths with lever -45013-96b - $108

I installed a Big Brake rotor from Arlen Ness. It's 15" and comes with a bracket for mounting the caliper. With the EBC pads there's a real big improvement in braking. Cost me $261. Sure, it's not a dual caliper set up but it's a lot cheaper and easier to do.
