Any side to side movement or click-click movements at the axle end means its time to rebuild the pivot.

Yeah, you need to try and relax. Without a head wind, or cross wind you can get used to it up to 65. I often ride with one hand, for a break on long trips at higher speeds. My alignment is perfect though, I can no-hand her, and she is straight as an arrow. Cruise control is so cool. (I don't make a habit of it, calm down)

Is this your first bike? Just curious. I have a buddy that got his first, and he is having some similar issues, that seem to be confidence/comfort driven.

The fact that it is worse when you hold the bars tightly really points to an untrue front wheel or tire. Get the front end off the ground and spin it, watching for any side to side movement as it rotates. It could be something that simple

If not steering bearings, the problem could very well be the wheel bearings. This is especially true if you are using the cheap oem H-D bearings.

Check the wheel bearing threads here and get a set of quality bearings like Timken/Fafnir etc. I've posted the part numbers.

I had this problem too. Wheel bearings fixed mine.

I got my first bike...EVER last year. My bike would wobble at highway speeds as well. I was nervous and tense for months and once I learned to relax it I got more comfortable. When I took the bike in for it's first service, they added a few pounds to the tire and some weight and the wobbles went away. I didn't like the wind on my chest. It felt like I was holding on for dear life. So, I got a fairing and it made a HUGE difference in my comfort level. I'm sure a lot of others can attest to this as well. It might be something to think about as far as comfort.

honestly i havnt gotten wobbles once I relaxed my grip. I can pull my hands off the bars at 80+ and its strait. Still a little wobbly in fast turns but ive read thats common in the rubber mounted dynas. need a true track or similar to get rid of that
