Can't vouch for the 07 custom,I ride an 07 WG. I love it,it stops fairly well, turns great ( don't believe all the skinny front wheel hoopla) and cruise in comfort. The 96 pulls nicely too...seen 120 on her. My only gripe is I come from a heavy sportbike background and I always knock my feet off the pegs when cornering hard. here's a pic
Difference is in the front end:
Wider fork trees
a couple of degrees more rake on the WG. front tire extends out just a bit further than a SG.
skinnier tire... and you wont get as many miles on it as a wider one.
Due the slight rake difference on the front end of the WG it might take a little getting used to with slow speed maneuvers, but I wouldn't let that be the deciding factor on which one to buy.
Archergodwin - I appreciate your input but what you pointed out is the obvious. I'm looking more for a comparison of suspension, handling and stability of the GWD as to my Custom.
Thanks
Nevil - I can turn on a dime at very slow speeds with the Custom, I have to pay strict attention that I don't simply lay it down - lol. I also ride an 09 Heritage in which I have to 'readjust' handling. that Heritage just won't turn as sharp as the Custom. These two (Heritage & Custom) as you know are softails. My biggest question is regarding 'center line suspension compared to outside the center line suspension like the DWG provides.
Thanks for your input
