Default Backwards Rear ABS bearing.. issues?

I think I installed my rear ABS bearing, backwards. I'm colorblind/deficient, so I couldn't tellt he green side. I don't think I can remove it without damaging it and it isn't cheap anyways. I've ridden with it for two days, about 110 miles, for my commute to/from work (27 miles one way). Will running it without ABS working, be alright?

2013 FXDWG

Thanks!

Yeah, you're fine. If the bearing's backward, you've got conventional brakes right now.

Look at me, I'm normal!

Heh, but, anyways will the plastic seal melt, being so close the to wss? I know it does not actually touch the sensor but, will that spinning generate any kind of sciencey heat?

Nah, it won't melt. It works through magnetism, not heat.

Go to an autozone / O'Riellys and "rent" a blind hole puller

Rent it parenthesis because you pay a deposit - then get it back upon return

Well, I bought a new abs bearing. In the process of removing the old/new/1st one and expecting it to be damaged. Still a bitch to get out. Damn...

Cool. Got the abs bearing out. Instead of renting the tool, I just brought the wheel to Autozone. So, I may be just now noticing this but I'm hearing a clicking or knocking noise when I rotate the rear wheel backwards, in neutral, on the lift. Is this the way the belt is tracking differently going in reverse? Here is a quick video of it

Update: I guess there was still a little bit of slack between the two bearings that held the axle sleeve/spacer. I had to take off the wheel again and sinch them together a bit more to snug up the sleeve between the bearings. After I put it back on the knocking sound went away.

Glad you got it sorted. ABS can be worth it...especially when it matters the most.
