Default Dumb handlebar question, sorry in advance

I'm looking to experiment with some handlebar positions via rotating the mini apes on my Street Bob. I always felt they should be rotated back just and inch (they are currently just straight up) so my shoulder doesn't cramp.

I read other threads on the subject and it seems you just loosen the clamps, rotate, tighten.

The Harley service book is on my Christmas list - anyone know what tightening sequence and torque specs to use? I'd rather not have them slipping by not getting it right.

Also, is there any need to mess with adjusting the throttle or that wouldn't be affected?

I know it's a dumb question, but any info would be most appreciated.

12 -18 ft lbs

Tighten/ torque rear two first - then tighten / torque front two

============

Personally..., I alternate tightening down all four for equal loading

I doubt you'll need to adjust your throttle cables or clutch cable with such a small movement. Don't know for certain though. If you do notice a change it's pretty easy to adjust them both.

Shouldn't.., nor the clutch

What you may need to adjust however, is the angle of your levers - after you've set the bars

Forgot to mention that last night

Genuinely appreciate the tips, thanks everyone (especially the torque values). Got it adjusted without issue, now all that's left is to take it for a spin to find the sweet spot.

Before you ride it, turn it on and with it idling, turn the bars from full left lock to full right lock a few times, just to make sure your throttle cables don't need to be adjusted. If the RPMs change when you're turning the bars, that means you're tugging on the cables and opening the throttle, potentially dangerous if it happens while riding.
