I would bet money that they are not the same. If you were to compare them side by side you would very likely find that the fit and finish of the products marketed by Moons, Custom Dynamics and the like are worlds better than the ones you linked to. I've spent lots of time comparing these products online and the vast majority of the stuff sold on Ebay, Amazon, and the like just don't measure up.

Custom Dynamics, no not even close to the quality or the warranty. Moons and Speed Kings, yes... they're all Chinese junk. They buy in bulk and resale them. The original Moons headlights had little spider emblems in them ffs, you think a "club style" Dyna person would put a lame spider on their bike? You think they'd sell them for others to put on theirs? They did and do. If they can get people to pony up the money then more power to 'em. The fact that 2 separate sellers(Moons and Speed Kings) are selling the exact same tail light for about the same mark up should indicate to you that they're getting them from the same place despite that fact that they look 100% the same.

You can think what you want. I can't speak for Speed Kings, but I can speak for Custom Dynamics and Moons, having used a bit of both. I haven't been privy to the version 1 Moons, but the version 2 is probably as good as anything else, quality wise. All the Custom Dynamics stuff I've used is very good. By the way, the Moons tail lights are NOT the same as the stuff on Ebay you linked to. If you notice, the Ebay stuff has wires with no terminations (well, one of them is actually terminated), whereas the Moons have connectors crimped on and housings installed. Plus, as I said, I've compared the solder connections/weatherproofing/insulation between my Moons headlight and photos of the "knockoffs" on the internet, and there is no comparison.
I'm done here. I have no desire to turn this thread into an off topic pissing match.
probably true but, the moons is finished connection wise. custom dynamics is well above moons and speedkings in quality.
f*(# speed kings anyway... after the ordeal i had with them earlier this year... they'll never get another dollar from me. they sent me a ebay set of lights that was not what was even advertised then acted surprised when i called BS and demanded a refund. no... never

no pissing match but, the moons headlights are kinda crappy imports. people like them because they are "cost effective" and better than stock, which is fair. throw a CD/ Vision x (same light) or a 8690a/m in your bike and you will see the difference right away, hell even a hd daymaker (5 year old jw speaker) will smash that moons knock-off stuff. but again, i get why people buy them.
tail lights and such.... i'm not too concerned with the center light since i have all the lights on the rear of the bike doing run/brake duty. i would be upset if the light started a fuse domino failure issue. i just want that big'ol rear light gone and have never understood why there isn't yet a flush mount light.
I went with an Ebay Daymaker / Moons Knock off, and it's the same exact unit Moons sells, but at half the cost. I can't speak for the tail light, but the quality seems to be decent.... But I am sure it's not on par with my Custom Dynamics integrated.
I can tell you this... With my background and a Supply Chain Manager, and dealing with Chinese manufacturing, I can say with 100 % confidence that non of these "parts distributors" are making their own lights. Custom Dynamics aside, these eBay lights and what the other guys are selling are mass-produced by the thousands, then sold off to US distributors. The average eBay seller, and or local shop owner can't move the volume needed to be able to produce their own PCB layout, and injection molds... That $h!t is expensive! Not to mention, most Chinese manufacturers won't wan't to talk to you unless you can order 1000 plus units at once.
All that said, I'd give it a shot f I didn't already have my CD tail light.

No, no pissing match here. You're discussing the subject rationally, rather than just jumping in with both guns blazing--always appreciated.
Interesting perspective on the Moons. I've heard it both ways; some say they're not as good as, say, the daymaker, I've also heard that they're quite a bit better, and this from folks who have actually compared them in real life. All I can say is my Moons headlight appears to be pretty high quality and puts out a great amount of light. Maybe the version 2 Moons is a significant departure from the version 1. I never even considered trying a version 1, the quality didn't look that good and like Kraken said, I was pretty put off by the cheesy spiders on the lens surround.

i refused to go sealed led for a while. i did the led h4. and high performance bulbs but, these canopy roads around here are a death trap at night. i research quite a bit. i ended up with the 8690a first and then grabbed a cd trubeam. i pulled the trubeam because, yhe pattern was bonkers it put out the most light ive seen from any headlight. that thing is no joke. people saying that moons and knock off stuff is just as good are out of their mind. it dwarfed my 8690.
CD in the sportster, 8690 in the dyna Cd is brighter (harsh) and whiter than the 8690
wacky pattern...
I'm going to be putting another 8690a in the sporty.
the moons imports are fine for most. i just can't do it. the deers and other creatures running around here are out for blood. they can't have mine without a fight.
