So I am interested in buying a street bob. I've been reading a lot but my question is. What year street bob is the best year to have and why? This would be for me a second Harley and used to bob around town on. Thx
You can really feel the difference in the upgraded compensator and 103 engine on the 2016. No way anyone can tell me the Dyna's have not been changed since whenever. Motor is quiet, shifts are smooth and no resistance from the compensator to get used to when you turn it over. I say get a newer model.
there is no best, there's best for you- depends on what you want and your budget. might want to consider a sporty too, unless you are insecure of your manhood... real men ride pink, rose covered sportys
I have to agree with TUCCI. I had a 2007 Street bob and traded it in on a 2015 Fat Bob (tested them both) but the newer ones did feel different to me as well. I ended up with the Fat Bob but both were amazing bikes.
If money's no object, get the newest one you can.
Other than that there were some issues with the first year -'06. Stator and inner primary bearing come to mind. Plus that year had the 88" motor, the next model had the 96".
love my 2016.. and got it for 12K brand new.. dealers are being pretty aggressive on moving old stock here in Socal.. picked it up 2 months ago and no payments for 2 more months.. plus after i traded in my 48 ive received almost 2500.00 in checks from warranty rebates after cancelling my service contract, extended warranty, gap, and wheel and tire protection..
I'm pretty sure the 2009's have the blonde engine and until 2013 I think they had that real ugly tail light, I have a 2013 and I love it nothing wrong with the 96" in my opinion. My buddy has a 2014 with the 103 it just has slip ons and mine has an intake 2 into 1 and a tune and it walks all over the 103.
Took this picture last night before I put it away for the winter.
Ive been looking at a 2009 and a 2014 used. I do have the funds to buy new but was hoping to get a good used one to cut too much depreciation loss. Also have money for upgrades. But good info from all. I have a 2014 SGS now but wanted a buzz around town bike.
