Cool, I'm sold on the concept. Never came across that on the forums (or probably i just didn't pay attention), so thanks for the input. I'm going to try to source the items needed tomorrow and if it gives me too much trouble, I'll grab the DK solution.
Definitely check out the posts to see what others have done with their Big Suckers (I have a DK AC so the parts all work together) before you drop any cash on a kit. If you aren't sure, give DK a call, they are super helpful.
I saw one person who instead of tapping the backing plate and running the tubes externally, they put a fuel line hose inside the vent holes, then drilled through the plate to run the hoses out that way.
Might go that route as I don't have a tap set and have never done it before. I think I'm gonna not put the T in the air filter though and drill two holes for the lines and run the T externally.

That was me with my current AC. I did it as soon as i brought it home. It's simple and effective and I run the oil level right up to the full line. Any future air cleaners I consider must have atmosphere venting capabilities before I make the change. Although I drilled and tapped the AN Big sucker at the beginning of the thread on my then Road King(which I had never done before), in the future I prefer another option. There are a few but, the Big Sucker is not one of them without tapping hose lines.
When I transition over to an aftermarket AC it's likely to be an SS unit which is easily vented to atmosphere using my existing vent line below the motor frame.
I decided on the DK kit. Drove around most of the morning and costs were adding up to more than the kit before I was even halfway done. The post I was referencing previously I thought was a Big Sucker but wasn't, there's no way I could get lines in the vent holes without drilling so might as well just go the external route.
I'll just practice tapping on some scrap before doing it for real, looks easy enough. Will report back when installed.
This DK Customs kit has really peaked my interest. Will the little filter get oil soaked eventually, who is the vendor and p/n for the little red one? Also would using Seafoam help clean carbon off the tops of the pistons, or is there a plethora of other cleaners that can be used?
Thanks to all that posted links about this breather issue , I really like the DK breather kit with the catch can and am going to call up and get one on the way tomorrow.
DK are great people that make great parts. And if when you want to change out the filter, I just go on Fleabay and get cheap ones: http://www.ebay.com/itm/291660671298
