Jus wondering what auto compression release you have, how you like it, and if there are any bolt ons kits available. Until recently I hadn't even heard of acrs and since a big bore is in my future I've decided to start doing some research. Thank you
Last 4 builds my friends and I have done we used S&S E-Z starts. Easier on system every time you push the button, no headwork, no remembering, no wire's...
One friend has an S&S 124 kit with stock starter & cables, no prob so far
Especially nice if U just doing a cam upgrade with no headwork
SE comp releases are poor design; had a couple fail on me. Got a set from HQ; they were fine
Yea it's a 17 fxdls, and I already have a Powervision. I'm hoping to find a bolt on kit that doesn't require machining. I'd prefer stick with the se259e cams that come with the kit I'm going with since my knowledge on cams is limited.
If my bike has acrs I'd rather stick with HD parts. I had just planned on runnin the 259e cams that come with the kit but now I'm second guessing. Wish I could test out a bike with the 117 and go from there.
If you haven't yet, best investment you can make right now is to obtain a copy of the HD SM for your year/model. You can look everything up like this, it's indispensable, and when you start doing things it will pay itself off immediately!
I would think that SE 117" cylinders/pistons kit would go well with the OEM heads worked over by a pro, be a ripper!
Oh yeah, gotta have new cams, talk to the head pro and tell them what you want!
