I posted this in the engine/exhaust section with no results...
Is anyone here running the python 2:1 pipe? I had a thunderheader on a previous bike, but I think that is a bit too loud. I like a pipe with a deep tone and want it to bark only when I crack on it. Anyone have any input?
I installed the Python 2-1's on my FXD about 3 weeks ago. They have a nice low rumble at idle, and do perk up a bit when I hit the throttle. They are definitely louder than stock (what isn't?), but not so ridiculously loud that your neighbors will hate you. I used to have a sportster with cycle shack slip ons that was louder than the Pythons. For me, the sound is just right and there was a nice performance boost over stock. I am installing the PCIII and the K/N ac this weekend which should improve things even more.
Exactly what he said about the sound. I love mine. I got em matched with a PC III and a Big Sucker AC kit. Bike runs and sounds great now. I have got a little discoloring on the muffler where the header meets up with it, but I think I'm running a little rich. Need to get it on a dyno!
I got mine for $375 shipped from Eastern Performance Cyclesthough...check there before buying.
