I'm pretty sure pplitting isn't legal here. Only place I've seen it done is on the 405 in SoCal. Bikes running 2-3x the speed of the surrounding HEAVY traffic.
lane splitting is legal, I'm in bay are California, I knew the risk while doing it bike get hot sitting in traffic, and was in the legal speed limit while doing so.
Man that sucks. Glad you are ok and the bike looks fixable. I've been seriously thinking about getting a go pro for the bike because of all the ********.

Crazy thing is I had a go pro, returned it because it sat on the self, might have to get one again to mount to the bars. Yeah the bars are tweaked everything on the bars is pretty much trashed , fairing , exhausted looks tweaked, and rear turn signals too
Glad you're ok, man. I lane split all the time in the Bay Area. Always gotta be looking, but people do stupid stuff all the time behind the wheel of a car and sometimes you just can't avoid it.

That's cool. I wasn't questioning your legal right to split. Just pointing out my personal exposure to it. I've never seen anybody in OH or IN do it, so I ~think~ it's illegal here. I've never looked as I've never felt the need to do it. The guys I've personally seen doing it outside LA on multiple occasions over the years were mostly geared up and running during typical commute times and heavy traffic. Most were moving along at pretty good speeds. I can definitely see the appeal in hot, congested places like that. Personally, I wouldn't be ON a bike in that situation, but we all do our own thing. I try not to judge.
