My 2012 wide glide has a 5 3/4 in headlamp. Id really like to swap it out for a 7 inch bucket and then add a LED lamp. Anyone know what 7 in bucket will fit it and is a good one????
Yeah. I'm thinking a side-mount metric-style bucket. Can't find any pics of them on a Harley, so I may just have to spend the money to find out how it fits.
Dime City Cycles and Lowbrow have good selection of 7" stuff since they handle a lot of Triumphs.
I put a 7" bucket on my fatbob, it was a drag specialties, about 60.00. It does stick out a little, but it allow me to run 100/65w halogen bulbs which is a whole lot cheaper than the LEDs. I haven't figured out how to post full size pics yet, s you'll have to click....
On a wide glide front end it may look ok, but on a mid glide it looks a little off. I put one on my old '08 FXD and it never looked "right" - it had a great LED bulb, but appearance wise, it looked odd. I'll try and dig up a photo

Found one. Not the best but you can see what I mean. Bucket needs to be more aft. And yes Cvaria, it's the same dead bear. (Inside joke)
This is my 09 FXD with a 7"stock from a 2004 Fatboy (ebay purchase),, I use a Diamond Cut Adjure Lens with a stock bulb and I gotta tell ya,, I don't care if folks think it's too big or doesn't work with the bike. The HUGE difference in the night time lighting over the Dyna 5 3/4 is well worth any negative comment I've gotten from the forum.
It's been like this for 2yrs and NOBODY locally has come up and said it looks goofy,, in fact I've been approached several times asking how and what I did to make the improvement.
