Tank Lift
Okay I know that this one has gone around before. Does anybody know if there are any issuse with installing a 2" tank lift on an 06 Dyna Wide Glide. I have heard that there are no clearance issues from some but clearence issuses from others. Can anybidy tell me which is right? I would really appreciate the help.

Not sure about the Wide Glide but I lifted my 99 FXDL and a buddy of mine lifted his 06 street bob 2 in and had no problems. We both made our lifts from some simple flat metal we painted black. If you do that it will tell you if you have a problem and you will have little or no money in it.

I believe ktm_scott had a clearance issue on his '06 WG. That being said, he simply grinded the rear bracket to slide the tank back a bit. He said that it was a 10 minute job. I had to do the same to my '07 and it worked like a charm.

I'm having all kinds of issues with my 03 WG, but I have to tip my hat to Jackyl, he has been going above and beyond to help me lift my tank. The strap-style lift wouldn't work because the tank was pinching the straps against the frame. The t-bone looks like it "would" work, but the part that hooks to the frame needs to have longer "ears". I haven't even gotten to the point of checking for tank clearance. I don't think I will have an issue with that. It is close, but it should clear.
