Default 2014 FXDB Wiring issue help please

Changed my bars out and had some trouble. When I was removing the internal wiring from the T bars that were previously on the bike, I thought for sure that the clip at the end of the wiring harness would easily fit through the bars. It did but then there was an issue on the 90° angle of the bar. The left side clip got chewed a little bit. It was still able to plug back into the mainframe harness, so I continued the project with the new bars.

I went to the dealership today and they did not have the clip in stock and were not exactly sure on ordering. I was a little frustrated. I came home and put the clip back together, put some electrical tape around it with heat shrink. It seemed to fit together perfectly.

When I did the right side I took the wires out of the electrical clip and the job was much easier. Once I threaded the new bars I them put the wires back into the clip, plugged it back in together and there was no issue.

PROBLEM: The bike turned on but there is no power to the switch housings. So I'm worried that the left side is affected from the clip that got chewed up. However, I am wondering if the left side does not work, does that default to the right side not working? Either way I have no power to the electrical.

So my options are to come up with a new clip, either from the dealership or from somewhere else. Other option is to cut both clips off and do the old school method of soldering and heat shrink.

I'm pissed.

You should be able to see the wiring diagrams for your bike here:

Check your fuses.
Do you have power to your head & tail lights?
Do you have turn signals, brake light, horn, speedometer/odometer?
Look at the easy stuff first.

fuses good. Head and tail lights good. Turn signals come on, but no flashers. No horn.

Basically the power is not coming on to the switch housings. I double checked the connectors and I'm assuming the left side clip connector being chewed up is the problem and I need to find another clip (male part) to match and then wire. Or....cut both and just use butt connectors. Did some research and the clips are apparently "Deutsch connectors" or something??

When you say the turn signals come on are you talking about the front & rear turn signals or do you mean the Running lights in the front?
You said no flashers ... does that mean the turn signals (front & rear) light up but do not flash?
Does the speedo light up? Does the odometer show the mileage?
It looks like your bike has the canbus wiring so I'm not too sure but I would look at the battery fuse again. That seems to supply power to the hand controls.
Other than that I don't think I can help.
If your bike has the canbus wiring, then cutting wires probably is not a good idea.

Thanks for getting back to me. Yes the canbus wiring and the right side connector is loose, the left side is the one I messed up (clip). I can't get the wires on the right side to snap back into the clip. At this point I'm aware the left side is probably messed up and the clip will have to be replaced. Just still brainstorming the issue and youtubing stuff.

Here's the messed up left side. I think I need a new connector, just not sure where to find one. I fixed the right side (which wasn't damaged), just needed adjustment.

I'm on my phone so link may be crap but go to:

http://partstream.arinet.com/Mobile/...ZHDPEHgy0.html

^outpost alaska's part finder.

Shouldn't be an issue finding that male connector and getting it on order.

See if you can take a small file (maybe a nail file) and clean up all the burrs on the plastic. Maybe you can clean it up enough to get it to work while you order another connector.
