Just wondering if anyone else was crazy enough to do the 1300 mile trip on their Dyna? Will be leaving from Dallas tomorrow, will stay Saturday night in Biloxi. Will stay in Panama on Sunday night then into Daytona on Monday. Will be there all week, and supposed to take a trip down to the Keys while we are there.
It should be a great ride, but my *** WILL be killing me by the end of this 3500 mile trip.
Anyone else take that long of a ride on their Dyna? I'm told I'm nuts for even trying.....
It's all about the correct seat and comfort. If your comfy then your good. You should do iron butt. Track your miles and get an award
If 'I'm not hurting too bad on the way back we might try, but my shoulders and butt start hurting pretty bad after 500+ miles in one day. I'm on a 14 Fat Bob with a solo seat, raised the drag bars 2" and mini floor boards, still an *** whopping after a long day of riding for me.

Anyone feeling like this should seriously reconsider how they have their bike configured. Touring comfort requires a different combination of seat, suspension, handlebars and wind protection than does the often-seen boulevard cruiser with ape hanger bars, a thin pad seat and slammed to the ground suspension.
I recently made a 3000 mile trip on my FXDC with excellent comfort. Many days had me on the bike for 12 hours +.
Of course, most of you probably wouldn't want a bike set up like mine.

the trip there was actually more enjoyable than being there. i left daytona with in 2 hours of being there.... too much stupidity for me to stomach. i now live three hours away and wouldn't make the ride if you paid me.
the keys to southern most point is a beautiful ride, did that on the sporty too.
I really don't understand why everyone thinks Dynas suck for long distance trips. We took a family trip to sturgis last year and rode a total of about 1900 miles. I had my 15 Fxdb at the time and unfortunately I was using my Badlander seat instead of my solo seat so aside from my *** being torn up like a ****in prison inmate, I was perfectly comfortable. I've taken other long distance trips too, but with the factory solo seat, and I was perfectly comfortable theme whole trip. Dynas are fine for long distance (in my opinion) as long as you have a comfortable seat, controls, and bars. With mid controls, my knees would hurt like hell once I got off the bike. But I absolutely love the stock Fxdb seat. That's what I have on my fxdls, along with forward controls, and 2.5 inch riser spacers (until I get my apes on). This particular setup is perfect for me. I can ride as long/far as I want with absolutely no discomfort.

they don't suck on long trips.. why would they? the very first ride on my dyna was a long trip. performed like a champ...STOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree 100% but I hear a lot of people don't like Dynas for long trips. As for me, I'd rather take my Dyna then a street glide any day. I can ride mine all day only stopping for fuel and I'm perfectly comfortable.
