seat strap

Had to take my seat off to put my throw over bags on. After 1/2 an hour I just cut the strap to get it off. Tried pulling the seat back, but could get it loose from the front. So i remember seeing here that some have cut their straps and didn't replace it. Now my seat is a little wobbly and was wondering it this is normal without the strap. I can get another one and spend a day putting it on, or is it no big deal?

No big deal. The seat clips under the end of the tank mount and bolts to the back fender.

I've been without the strap for several years now. Only downside I can think of is that it makes the seat a little less theft resistant. I suppose having the strap could make things a little safer too, if the single screw attaching the seat ever came out.
