I don't like the dual guages on my lrs. I prefer not to have to look down to see my guages. The top one is ok, but I was thinking of switching to a single guage at some point in the future. I'm curious if anyone has done anything like this and what was needed to do so. Was it just plug and play? I'm considering buying the guage HD sells with the speedo/tach/indicators all in one. Also, if you have deleted the guage, what did you do with the vacant hole? I saw a pic of a Powervision mounted into the console, and I liked that. If you've changed anything with your guages, please post a pic as I'm open to suggestions.
One idea I have is to build a Bluetooth speaker system, so if I can find a Bluetooth stereo that will fit where the bottom guage goes, I'd really like to do that, then I'd like to mount markne speakers to the windshield frame. Just an idea. I don't even know if I could find anything like that or not. If anyone knows of anything, feel free to make suggestions.
not sure the dimensions of this, but something like this would be ideal, assuming it's small enough to fit into the guage hole in the console. If it's too small, I can always fab a mount for it.
Just pull the gauges and get one of those combo guages. Slap on on a single guage dash like a 2009 or so street bob dash.
i dont think there is a need to change the harness since the tach lead is a factory splice of the speedo lead. The signal is still traveling through the wires. You would need to do something about the idiot lights... so maybe a street bob harness. You are keyless though, right?
i dont get the stupid stock low rider guage configuration. It makes no sense. Who wants to look that far down to see the tach.
Yea I know I still have to figure out the mounting details, I'm more curious to see pics of what others have done with their guages. Does anyone know if the single guage HD sells will use stock connectors? Or do I have to modify the harness or buy a jumper harness? I don't know why the **** they made the guages like this, I don't know anyone who likes em. Just like the wheels.

its the same connector for the speedo across the harnesses. The tach lead is just a factory splice off the speedo. All those signals are still running to the speedo and can be seen in the odometer/info window of the speedo with the trip button. If you look at the part numbers for the stock speedo, They are all the same (within model years). I think the fat bob may differ in some years.

Not one of the MoCo's best ideas but the world was a different place and traffic was a lot different 40 years ago, speedo and tacho on the tank is one thing that's always been unique to a Lowrider too.
