I would appreciate it if anyone could offer any comments or suggestions on this. As a lifelong gearhead, I like to know what's going on with my engine. I like gauges. Obviously there is no need for a water temp gauge on e Dyna, but I would like to have oil pressure, oil temp, altmeter and tach. I would like to rig something up so I mount them on the t-bars, either on the risers or on the bar, behind the bars...that is, in the space basically between the bars and the tank. The attached pic may help some.
FWIW, I also would like to have an outside ambient air temp gauge (thermometer), small clock and possibly a compass. (Yes, I said I was a gearhead...make that nerd gearhead.)
I see a lot of miscellaneous gauges etc, but I don't see any kind of overall solution or setup. I was thinking of getting one of the HD tach/speedo mounts and taking it to a machine shop to modify for the additional gauges, then powder coat.
Any ideas?
TIA!
Mark

Here's something I did with FORMOTION instruments. Seemed silly to mount delicate instruments on the most vibration-prone part of a bike (bars), so I bent the mounts a little and bracketed the speedo with 'em.
Dakota Digital just came out with a new Direct plug in model that will fit right in your bike!It has a lot of the stuff your looking for and did I say it plugs right into your stock wire harness=E-Z The part# MCL-3204
Thanks for the replies, fellas. Those digital things look cool... but I prolly should have said, I kinda prefer analog. (My VCR blinked "12:00" for 20 years, until VCR's became totally obsolete. I stopped watching movies then.)
PKelly, that's a partial solution, but it's also easy, so I may go with something like that at least for the clock and thermo. My speedo mounts on the bars ('06 model didn't have it on the tank), so it's a challenge. But I have an Accutronix bracket that has similar mounting points, so I can do that...

Best thing to do is photoshop your ideas then make it happen with a custom bracket, that you can easily make with clamps and/or a sheet metal plate.
