I wonder where the chips will fall, the Dyna and the Softail are such very different motorcycles, will the Softail look like a monoshock Dyna or will the Dyna look like a Softail with a swingarm??? Sounds to me like a Cog (half cat half dog).

Oh, your're not far off; the homology HD is after will create one basic bike with accessories to turn it in to either a cruiser or touring bike; a uniform base to add to with no more room for those that want to be outside that box or want a unique ride.

Thankfully the old iron is out there; my next 'new' HD will be a Wide Glide with a kicker, a 4 speed, and a Shovel

I dunno, I guess I prefer to take a less doom-n-gloom path. Instead of considering the popular theory a "common" frame, I suspect (hope) it will be a "modular" frame.

Imagine the possibility of swapping out neck/backbone sections and rear subframes to make all kinds of personalized rides without the need to cut, fab, and weld. If done right, it could be really cool.

2 or 3 engine cradles, 3 or 4 necks and/or backbones, half a dozen rear subframes...just from MoCo. Then the aftermarket can step in and make an infinite number of other options. Round tube backbones, various rakes, wide and narrow options, rigids, springers, softies, swingers, etc.

really? dyna is shaking too much? go get on a sporty
I’ve ridden many many miles on a sporty. The dyna shook four times as much as the sporty ever did. It is now fixed, but it had to be, which is my point.

That's funny, while my Ironhead vibrated my Dyna is smoother than my EVO Dresser was.

Plausible on an older bike with bad isolators. I know mine is/was pretty bad. Mirrors were useless, hands went numb, feet vibrated off pegs, etc. Wasn't always like that, tho. Just the last part of last summer riding season.

Really? I find that the shaking adds some personality, so it's not as soul-less as some of the copycat Japanese bikes. Harley recognizes this too, making the deliberate decision not to conterbalance the M8 as much as the balance shaft would have allowed.

On the Dyna, there really shouldn't be much shaking when going down the road though, if your motor mounts are within spec (and they can be off from the factory).

Just makes my Sedona Orange 103 more special. I love the look and ride. Superglide Custom was another great MC Harley disscontinued. Guess MOCO wants everyone on big ugly bikes

Well I appreciate your ****in insight

Clearly, You ****in know better what my bikes have been like, and since you're such a level ****in 10 internet guru, I should have ****in known better than to comment about my experieces without ****in running it past your omnipotent *** first.. I’ll ****in know better next time.

For sure, I have nothing better to do than make up stories about my experiences with bikes and post them on here so some random anonymous person can challenge my integrity. All the **** I was doing was rendering an opinion that its high time that Harley started addressing engineering flaws instead of just kicking the can down the line.
