That doesn't work on most Dynas. The jiffy stand is mounted under the frame in a pivot block. It doesn't go forward. The washer trick is the deal for that as the OP suggested if you don't have a stout spring puller. In this case, Youtube ain't your friend
Guys. An even easier way is to get a small tube or pipe that the spring end will fit over. Notch the end. Slide the spring over the tube, put the tab where you notched it over the spring tab on the frame. Push the handle and the spring slides onto the tab with zero effort. This is how they install the spring safety inground pool covers. Here's a bad picture but I think you'll get the idea. Now if someone can post a picture of where the jiffy bumper is suppose to go on the frame I can't seem to locate the right spot or a picture of one with the jiffy up and resting on it. Thanks

If I'm understanding you correctly...that's basically what a Drum Brake Spring Tool does...except you are making one (which is definitely worth describing for some)
I'm not sure never seen one. I made one for my pool cover out of a piece of copper pipe. You could use a solid rod and bevel out a channel to rest on the spring anchor too just needs enough curve to not slip off. It makes popping springs on a 2 second job. If this doesn't make sense I'll find or draw a better picture
