Hello all, long time no questions lol. I have a couple questions regarding an install I did last night on my 15' Dyna Low Rider. I installed a simple V&H 2 into 1 slip on just to create a little more noise.
The install went fairly smooth. Until I was installing the 8mm bolt back into the oem muffler mount. I will provide images following. The bolt was really hard going in. I reset it multiple times to make sure the threads were not crossed. After a while I decided to just go ahead and reef on it. It was reluctant but did go in slowly all while making the included rubber bushing squeak. Also I could see the flange on the backside of this moving. Now I feel like there is a more significant gap than originally there. I just want to make sure I didn't screw anything up. Please respond with thoughts, comments or experiences. Thank you all
That is actually a flange mounted on the back of the exhaust mount that the bolt goes into. It is from the stock mount. There is a rubber bushing between that and the exhaust amount and where the bolt goes through to hold the exhaust onto the mount
Thank you Matt I had to go through it all again and restart. It just seems as though that I did not have the bolt holes lined up and out even though it looked like they were. The exhaust seems to be on more snug now and the bolt fed through the flange much easier.thank you all

Hey glad it worked out for you. Exhausts are one of those things you can't just bolt them up and expect them to fit right. I run into this on pretty much every one I do. My Fat Cat required some wiggle here, tighten there, and ultimately needed a shim to keep the muffler away from the swingarm. Each bike is different since the engine and transmission are rubber mounted to the frame and connected at the top by a stabilizer link.
