Hello Everyone,
I am new to this forum, 1st time asking a question here, I have a 1999 FXDX, the speedometer and tach just shorted out and I found one I think might work, it is from a 2000 XL1200S, does anyone know if this will work?

Hard to say. The part numbers are different. Even the 2000 FXDX uses a different part number than the 1999. (Google Ronnies Harley Davidson and use their microfiche parts finder.)

Look for the wiring diagrams, they are out there on the net I've found them before. Put a 99 set on a 02 had to re pin some the wiring for the tach. Turnsignals would make the tach light flash and the needle wave/sweep. Never messed with the speedo side,just did math.
