Silver gauges
I have an 01 Ultra and the 4 small gauges are sun faded and the glass lenses are all spider web cracking. Bought a full set of used silver gauges off of a 2012 and know the speedo and tach won’t plug in. I also know about the fuel gauge resistance difference. My question is, did they make the silver face gauges for 96-03’s?? Looks alright with the speedo and tach black but wouldn’t mind them all the same

Yes they did. I believe the silver gauges were stock on the Road Glides (CVO only maybe?) and you could also buy the whole set from the Parts and Accessories catalog. They would fit 2000 to 2003 models as direct replacements. The speedo on 1999 and prior models was cable driven so it wouldn't work on those without mods. In 2004 they switched to a serial bus system and the speedo was different. The tach could be made to work on older models with a few wiring changes. The four smaller gauges would also work on some of the older models as direct replacements. I have the full set on my 1999 Ultra. If you can search some of my older posts you might see more info.
