My local dealer told me that they put in one full quart...and that it cannot be overfilled because any excess will overflow before you put the cover on.

Fill to the bottom of the clutch basket, as perki48 shows.

Same here, mines a 2010 and Ive change it every year with no problem.

Your Manual can be your Friend .. On my Dyna is 3 Quarts with Filter in Crankcase, 26 Oz in Primary, and 24 Oz in Tranny and believe me it's accurate ..

Maybe the confusion is if the primary is dry or not. Maybe the 26oz is for primary fluid changes and 32oz is for when the primary cover is removed letting those few last trapped oz out of the case. I think that is something along the lines of what I read when I had my cover off a few weeks ago.

Difference is by year model. Sorry for any confusion. Complete noob mistake on my part as to where fluid should be visible.
