New shocks in the $550-$600 range
It finally happened! My wife and I did a 150 mile ride yesterday and she said "I want new shocks for my Switchback....but they have to look pretty".
She's got a 2013 FLD, as do I. For her's, so far she's primary focused on chrome glitzification. I've dropped some Race Tech springs in the forks, but aside from that, nothing to improve ride quality or performance. After yesterday's ride, she's really coming around to new shocks. The catch is, she wants something chrome and ideally, as close to the look of the stock FLD shocks as possible. She doesn't ride aggressively, but wants something that provides comfort and handling. The only thing that I've found that gets close to the "look" are the Progressive 412's. EVERYTHING I've read about those shocks suggest it would be money wasted. I'd like to hold the budget at $600. Options I've found that qualify for the "pretty factor", but would like some input on....
Bitubo (from DK Special / Traxxion) - $550'ish. Has both preload and damping adjustment. Not sure if sprung for rider weight or "standard / heavy duty" springs.
Progressive 444 - $550-$600. Preload only. Not sprung for rider weight. Only comes in "standard or heavy duty" springs.
Other?
Mentioned Ohlins 2-2.....not pretty
I'm running Hagon Nitros....also not pretty
Appreciate the help...

These are a custom polished stainless version of the Road Shock but with the addition of larger diameter polished stainless steel full shrouds (70mm Diameter.)
Supplied in complete pairs with spring adjuster spanner.

Thanks. Any detail on how this is an upgrade from stock? I'm running Hagon Nitros on my bike and like them. I find them to be a substantial upgrade over stock in bump absorption and handling. How would these compare to the Nitros?
Works Performance makes a "pretty" shock, gas charged emulsion with lever preload and spring cups, optional on the bottom, Billet Trackers, quality and rebuildable. Might be above your price target.
I run works Pro Racer shocks with their cartridge fork kit on my Dyna, good stuff. Sorry I can't be of more help.
