Hey guys, my wife is having some hard time holding on. My leather jacket is packed and her arms are short. I am looking for a super short sissy bar to keep her a$$ from sliding off. It is a 2016 Low Rider S with the Saddlemen Step up seat. Beautiful functional seat but a bit slick/ er not much there for the back passenger under acceleration. G-Force.! I could tell ya a story. Without this Saddlemen Seat you could be left suspended in air. I contacted a very prominent sissy bar manufacturer and ordered a sissy bar to my specifications almost. I didn't have knowledge much about sissy bars and two-up seats. So I got what I ordered and it was absolutely beautiful. It would have worked beautifully with a solo seat. However with it the special beautiful cross indenting the seat and then I couldn't take the seat off without removing the ridged side plates again. The manufacture who made this was more than willing to take it back so this problem solved. He can double its price for a solo application. Mine was the first one like this.
What I now need is a ridged mount but can easily remove the top sissy bar section so I can get the seat off. It needs to be super short, only the pad sticking up to keep her a$$ from sliding off. I've studied the latest HD catalogue and had to actually go over to my local HD dealer to get them to explain their entries in the catalogue. They have a chrome version side plates that will work but no super short bar to fit and nothing in black, only some chrome stuff. They offered a quick detachable but I don't like and don't want to relocate some items. So, I'm asking for your input if any of you all been through this? Pictures below of my special made sissy bar. Mike
I've been using the Kuryakyn sissy bar on my '16 LRS. It keeps the wife and daughters on safely and is secure and easy to remove when needed. The sun has returned today, I'll take some pictures.
