Wide Tire Install --
I would type out the whole process as its given in the instructions, but I think it would take longer to do that than it will to actually change the tire. Here's the skinny:
1. Disconnect battery.
2. Remove rear wheel.
3. Remove taillight.
4. Remove rear turn signals.
5. Remove license plate bracket. (I wish I was making this up)
6. Obtain the template page from the kit and cut the two templates out from the page.
7. Tape the templates to the license plate bracket lining up the holes of the bracket and mark the locations of the holes to be drilled.
8. Drill four 7/32 holes through the bracket at the marked locations
9. Cut the bracket along the scribed lines
10. Using an 82 degree single flute countersink bit, countersink the four drilled holes 1/8 deep, being careful not to overbore the hole when countersinking.............
And now I'm tired of typing. There are 33 more steps in the process if you're interested. It's no wonder they can scare people into having everything done at the dealership. I think what I'm gonna do is this:
1. Have the local indy service station mount the tireon the wheel
2. Take a nap
3. Wake up, pick up wheel from indy service station and install wheel
4. Check belt
5. Go Ride
My current sad riding status....otherwise known as "my 2 hawgs":

It fills out the fender nicely. I didn't follow any ofthe directions I posted above...I got to looking at them closer and the kit they sold me was for a Wide Glide. There are two straps inside the fender that run parallel with the struts and on the right side there is a little hoop where the turn signal wire goes. It will likely come really close to the tire if I hit a big bump with a chick on the back, but otherwise even with me bouncing on the passenger pillion I couldn't get it to bottom out. If I have to, I will cut that hoop out and run the wire over the wire housing that runs along the top of the fender. I think the wire is long enough and it will keep everything out of the way of the tire.....
