Satans Dyna Fxrt Build
They make a solid front mount as well but I wanted to keep my highway pegs as I do one trip a year that usually runs between 4 or 5k miles. Love my mids for control but gotta have somewhere to stretch out on 700 mile days. Combination of vibratechnics front mount and big bear rear has no wobble at 90 mph sweepers and 130+ mph straits that number should be going up this year with my latest motor build we'll see how she handles around 140. As well as the isolation on the motor at idle is amazing. Guys at my local dealer are always impressed with how little everything shakes on my bike mirrors are actually useful now!
You've probably seen plenty of 2006-later Dynas running around with that same set-up ??
Yeah, the front specifically needs the most work (narrowglide wheel on a 2006-later midglide Front-end)... Custom axle/whl spacers, Rotor spacer(s) OR Caliper spacers, the center sleeve clearance hole enlarged for the 25mm sleeve (not on a 2005 Dyna wheel though...used 1" bearings), new sleeve and a bearing shim
The Rear can be (depending on year/model of donor 13-spoke) basically a direct a direct fit. A TRUE 2005 Dyna rear (3/4" bearings) would need the center sleeve clearance hole enlarged for the new 25mm sleeve and a bearing shim used to position the thinner 25mm ID x 15mm wide bearing
FWIW, a 150 tire is typically the max recommended with on that 16x3 Rear

Today I picked up some parts.
Got lucky on these passenger peg mounts. I got the last set before they went to back order.
Picked up some FXDWG fork tubes. They are 2" over standard FXDB fork tubes. Since my rear shocks are going to be way more money than I originally thought , I decided to ditch my original front end paln. Eventually I will pick up the Ohlins NIX22 inserts for these tubes and still have a wicked setup. Going 2 up in the front and 2 up in the back.
Thought you guys would get a kick out of this seat I'll be running on a future shovel.
Honestly I can't wait to get this project done so I can start another old school chop build.
so I extended my turn signal wiring today by about 4 feet. I'm running the turn signal wire through the the switch wiring harness , which goes through the bars. After they dump into the frame right behind the neck , I'll run the turn signal wires into the fairing where the lights will be behind the mesh vent found on fxrt front fairing. Should make a clean look and hopefully still be visible.
I love doing electrical stuff on bikes. So this was a nice way to spend a saturday.
Pretty sure harley spec is an 1/8th of an inch when it comes to stripping wire. I did a little over , but it doesn't really matter, as long as the solder job is good.
nice and clean. All the cuts were staggered so no bulge will be noticeable in the harness. It'll be in the bars anyways.
I need to find 3 pin 20awg deutsch connectors and the sleeving used to cover the wires and I'll be set to wire the bars for good.

I get the vast majority of my electrical stuff from Mouser or Newark. They will have virtually every connector and sleeve type available. Once you settle on a part number, price check on ebay. Sometimes you can get a better deal there depending on specific needs and quantities. I boight a pile of assorted Deutsches last fall to build a wire harness. I think they all came from Mouser.
Anything used on factory bikes would be worth checking with the dealer parts department.
