I finally got a chance to ride my new Dyna in some serious stop and go traffic yesterday. Wow! All I can say is that Harley definitely got it right with the new lower effort (they should call it "little effort") clutch and helical tranny. Over the past few years, I've owned 3 sport bikes, a BMW sport tourer, and 4 cruisers and have spent many hours on each riding through heavy traffic as part of my daily commute. The new Dyna has by far the easiest clutch and next to the BMW, the smoothest transmission. It wasn't until after I'd completed my commute last evening that I realized that my left hand wasn't tired and that I'd ridden through the heavy traffic without even thinking about the clutch.
Even if you're not considering an '06, you might seriously consider look at swapping out for the reduced effort clutch. It makes THAT much of a positive difference in the Harley riding experience.
Crow...I just installed one on my bike last weekend. What a difference. The bike feels totally different; much easier to ride. It also shifts much smoother too. You're going to love it! Good luck and happy riding!
