I have a 2005 Dyna Lowrider and just installed the forward contols...much better!! I am now wanting to get crash bar for both protection and another foot position for longer rides. My mechanic just had an accident where a driver pulled out in from of him and the crash bar saved his leg! Guess I am a believer now.
The problem I am now have is finding a crash bar for my bike with the forward controls. Anyone have any sources? And if you have pics of your bike with a crash bar with forward controls, I'd like to see it.
I have a 2000 Low Rider with forward controls. You will need a engine guard for a Wide glide. The regular Low Rider engine guard mounts in the same holes as the forward controls, while the Wide Glide lower mounts are U bolts, bolted to the frame tube. When I bought the bike the forward controls were already on it but no engine guard. When I went to my dealer, they explained and showed me how the DWG bars mounted. I did it with no problems and it is working great.
I have a 2001 Dyna Lowrider with a Califorina Emmission Control Tank. Does anyone know if the Wide Glide engine guards will fit with this tank in place?
