I have a 2009 FXDB and I recently got a new battery and the bike has been turning off on my mid ride... sometimes it'll start again and other times when i go to start it the fuses pop. I thought i fixed the problem bye taking care lf a split wire problem and i rode it for about 40 miles right after but last night it turned off on me at a stop light after about 2 miles... my question is about these little gold pieces that came with the battery... what are they? Lol OH and by the way i just took off my battery cover and i had to tighten the little bolt that negative cable to the negative terminal. It wasnt LOOSE but it wasnt tight like i had it and you could wiggle the nigative cable a bit. it also seems to have welded the washer to the bolt.
Gold pisces are so when you get pissed that the battery gos out you have something fo bite on....
Um spacers ,to go inbetween the leads and thbattery so the cables sit flush,as the contact post in the battery are proably off set alittle from the case edge of tbe battery and dint have to put abunch of stress on the cable ends and battery post to get a good conection. Take a look you may need them.

Reason: Clean up
Welding the washer to the bolt, means you had a loose connection and increased your resistance to electrical flow at that point... which creates heat... viola.. welding!
The spacers go between the battery post and the cable by the way. Make sure the cables are tight.
