melted battery terminals

anyone ever had there battery terminals start to melt.i was working on the bike the other night,and notice mine were.i have never seen this before.they were not loose (as i loctite them when i install)this is my first bike that was not a shovelhead.,btw its an 03 fxd

Yep my original battery got a melted negative terminal when the cable kept coming loose. I finally had to file it down to where the cable end would fit flush then loctited it. Never came loose again.

if it is melting they are either loose and touch or somehting comes across them... REPLACE THE BATTERY! tighten down those terminals on the new one brother
