Hey guys, I recently purchased a 2014 wide glide and it needs some new tires. I ordered the Pirelli night dragons front and back for it but I have been reading some forums and don't know if I need a tube and a rim band for it as I have the OEM spoked rims. Some forums say they are tubeless but you need to have a rim/tire band and others say you need a tube while a few say you need both. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thank you!
I'm pretty sure you need a tube and bands but it wouldn't hurt to check with your local HD dealer. Or wait for cggorman or tincup to chime in since they both seem to know their wide glides inside and out.
If this is your first tire change, you may get lucky and not need to replace the tubes and strips. I normally change them out every other tire change. Nice choice on the Night Dragons, you won't regret that decision
If I may suggest Ride On for dynamic balancing and added puncture protection; you won't need to spin balance the wheels or use weights with the Ride On...

Hmm...cggorman's WG is an "ancient" 1999 (no OE Tubeless option)... Doesn't apply (and still doesn't, with the change of hoops)
