I hate for my first post to be related to a problem, but.... Have a 2016 with 1500 miles on it. During a short ride today I noticed that the security light was intermittently coming on. Checked on lighting after I got home and found that my brake lights were staying on. Unplugged the rear, no change, the front lever appears to be disengaging the switch when pulled as I believe it should. Also found that I have front and rear blinkers, but no rear hazards.
While investigating this, I stick my fingers into an oil puddle forming under the left rear shock. This is my 1st Harley, and I love it, but I'm starting to get a funny taste in my mouth.
It's still under warranty, so not really looking for answers (unless someone has some really good ones), just venting a little.
I have a little over 1500 miles (it had maybe 26 miles when I bought it - 12 from my Test ride) on my 2016 LRS. Other than running hot, I've had absolutely no other problems (knock on wood). Now that the running temperatures (oil and heads) are under control... been nothing but care-free enjoyment. Oh I did have some screws shake loose, but a little loc-tite took care of that.
The LRS is a solid bike, with running temperatures properly addressed - the bike should last a good while.
The previous owner (sales manager at the dealer) I think had put on aftermarket bars, there isn't enough of a visual change for me to be sure. I checked the front brake lever area and it looks like the switch/plunger are being depressed and/or released as they should be. I bought it with 800 mi on the odo, and put about 700 on it before the issues started. Forgot to mention, I also got the Vin Err message on that ride and I think it needs the ACR flash that I've been reading about too, since it starts very hard at times. I'm going to drop it off with them tomorrow weather permitting, I'll check back in and let ya'll know what the issues were.
