yup. you can do it. you may need to remove your air cleaner if it is stock. 1-2 hours tops. funtimes.

this may be bad advice but, it's what i'd do: replace both cables - throttle and idle. ~$50 from the dealer... more if you wanna get fancy.

Thanks. I will replace booth. I have a Screamin' Eagle 29406-08 Stage I Air Cleaner. Seems to be enough space to replace cables without removing it?

that's a frustrating job. i did that behind my ness filter be\cause i was being a winner and forgot to put the cables on..... took me quite a while. i was ready to kill someone when i was done. if you are going to go that route. start with the cables on the TB first the put them in the hand controls.

They are now replaced. Anyone know the part numbers of the plastic clips holding the cables in place to the frame?

That seems to be the clutch cable, but maybe it will work?

What about number 1 in this picture?

"CABLE STRAP, throttle cables (3)"

Part no. 10073
