Default Shock Bolt Cover

Getting ready to swap out stock rear shocks on my '16 Street Bob. Putting on Progressive 444s.

Anybody swapping out rear shocks, did you keep the upper shock covers (see pic)? To use them again I would want to get them powder coated since I'm putting on black shocks. Anyone use any other options?

I used a couple soft caps that looked "ok" I lost one probably getting on or off. I'll probably just dust em with spray paint. Cheap and easy.

I had the covers powder coated black and got black H-D caps on the ends.

The cover's slit will need to be widen to fit over the 444s - (file / dremel / bench grinder / similar)

Then they can be PCd..., or..., I used krylon gloss black - can't tell the difference

If you paint them - the chrome will need to be scuffed up..., or preferably sanded off

Ooooh I'm guessing your talking about those shock top covers? Lol! If that's the case I'd toss em like a salad.

Didn't know I'd have to widen them for the 444s, good gouge. Trying to figure out if I even want them back on. Leaning towards no, but don't want to regret it later.

Or leave it without a cover. Give it a raw look with the bolt. Thats what I have on mine.

Chromed factory shock stud with polished stainless 1/2-13 acorn nuts from McMaster-Carr. You Know what they say, "Chrome Won't Let You Go Home Alone".
