Default Here's a different question.

Does anybody know if rewrapping a baffle with a denser fiberglass material will deaden the high pitch shrill more and only let out the deep rumble? Maybe high pitch shrill isn't what I really mean, more like a brap but definitely hurts the ears. Want to use my Vance and Hines slip ons with the quiet baffles, but the quiet baffles aren't really quiet. I want to knock down the upper spectrum of the sound wave while retaining lower spectrum. Anyone with ideas out there? Anybody else ever try this?

I've tried a bunch of things on my 06, even straight pipes. I thinkthe only way to deepen the rumble is to put some decent cams in it, and port the heads.

I run V&H BSS on a 95" and I know what you are saying. I had reg baffles in and whew it was loud. sweet and loud. But saving that topic for another thread I decided to go w quiet baffles. Ordered them took 1 look at that cheesy fiberglass and scotch tape setup and didnt like it. I got some ceramic blanket (friend in the industry) and put it on there. Made my adjustments and=-It rumbled at idle, quiet as heck at constant cruise, but would growl if pushed. PERFECT. It is, as I write, at the dyno and Ill let you know how that went. Seat of the pants after install was great no seeming loss from original map which was 98 ft/lbs and no popping...... as a note when the grizzled dude came from to pick it up, he fired it up and said =it sounds good= He probably has had his butt on more bikes than I have seen so I was good with his endorsement, real good. Will post dyno later hope it helps
