Default Break Fluid

My brother brought in his 2015 Ultra Classic 18,000 mi. in to to check a noise in the rear of the bike. His wheel bearing was shot. Also they recommended that he change is break fluid. Does break fluid go bad in two years?

Two years is the recommended period by HD.
If the bike has ABS brakes, let the dealer do it, the ABS unit requires activation during the bleeding process to purge any possible air.

I would go by whatever the owner's manual says.

or any good independent mechanic can also do it. My private wrench just did mine no problem on my abs system.

Provided they have the equipment to activate/pulse the solenoids and purge the ABS. Dealers have it and some indies do buy into the equipment necessary.

Really? I dunno about that. This guy does it all out of his home garage. I highly doubt he has any special equipment. He works at a shop and does this work at home after work.

Now that is interesting I did not know special tools neded to bleed ABS, gonna look into this, if they carry on like this soon we will not be able to wrench our own rides, well anyway I suppose I will be long gone from the planet by then or not riding anymore, but actually found this video, and it looks pretty simple to do as long as someone helps.

Default speed bleeders

I bought a set of speed bleeders and do it myself.

It's not that difficult, just make sure you don't let the fluid level get low enough to get air in the lines.
