These look nice, but super close to that bolt. I hope it's just photo angle.
I have cheapy Ohlins but in 13.5 - largest travel of them all, very happy with them, but would for sure try these out
If you mean the bottom bolt, yes it is pretty damn close. But the bike was up in the air, so add another inch and a quarter when compressed with my *** on it.
I LOVE these shocks. As dramatic an improvement as the S36's were over stock. Got them pretty dialed in. Added a little more preload and one more click of compression dampening and it feels GREAT.
And they look really cool as well. Though most eyes are immediately drawn to the hideous dead bear seat, huh?
I just had a conversation with Howard Messner, who build these shocks for me.
I like them so much I now want them on my Road Glide. I currently have the new black line (his #2-2 I think) non adjustable. He said he can retrofit my existing shocks to give them rebound and compression adjustments and the hose connected remote reservoir needed for the bagger mounting. He said either my piston shaft would have to be machined for the needle valve needed, or it could possibly be ordered. That, some new internals, the external parts (hose, Reservoir, etc.) and some of his magic and I'll have the same shock for my Road Glide.
Obviously it will end up costing me more then if I bought it originally, but you live and learn. Buy right the first time. Don't cheap out like I did.
I'm glad to have Howard's technical expertise to allow me to save having to go out and buy new shocks!
Like I said to him, his stuff has ruined me for lesser suspension setups...
I have been going back and forth on 13 vs 13.5 so I have a question: Do you see light above your rear tire now or is it still covered by the fender. A side pic would be even better. Thanks

The last photo I posted is pretty descriptive. At the top of the tire, no light. Only at about 10:30 when looking at the right side of the bike can you see through the fender. It doesn't look bad at all, and the lean I was expecting on the jiffy isn't bad enough to make me want to do anything about it.
I have those same shocks on order form Howard for my '16 FXDF. I have the same exhaust I just put on last week. It seemed I had more clearance for the lower shock bolt and muffler when it was on the stand than you described. One of the things i was looking at. I'll have to see when I get the shocks in.
Howard is fun to talk to. Sadly no Nix-22 for the Fat Bob. Didn't want to drop the bucks for the 30's, which sounded awesome, but it is a Harley. So racetech front end.

Just had to see this damn pic after I bought a different license plate laydown...
This is the Great Bike Gear Kit? I like the fact that you keep the bullet sigs. I know you were talking about wiring it up. Did you run into any issues?

Yes, great bike gear, and yes, it's great. But I was lazy and bought new bullets from HD. I wanted everything assembled as per factory (two conductor 1156 reflectors instead of the three/1157 currently on the LRS) And my parts desk didn't sell just the reflectors, only complete bullets, so I bought them. However it would have been just as easy to do were I not so "particular" (Lol). Just use the high brightness lead to the pos on the connector and it will be as it should be. I plugged everything in and it worked as it should, no trip to the dealer needed.
Initially, plugged in and sigs were dark until signaling. Added HD run brake turn harness and site went to run/brake/turn as I wanted.
