Bike is 2009 fat bob.
Installed cycle visions eliminator.
Red key comes on after I use the turn signals. I do not have a tssm, alarm or fob.
When the bike is in neutral and brake is applied, the brake light flashes 7 times like it's supposed to.
When bike is in gear the and brake is applied the light flashes constitly. What on earth would cause that?
I ordered the upgraded load eq. Maybe the basic load eq that came with the kit isn't strong enough.

Check for resistance in your ground buss. Measure the voltage from the ground point back to the battery negative. You'll want to do this under the same conditions that you're seeing the "undocumented feature". If you read more than a volt or so run a wire directly to the battery and see if it quits.
Seen this on a couple of yammys. Their ground buss is way overloaded.
If there's one volt drop in the negative buss and one volt drop in the supply,,,,, see where this is going? Some led's require all twelve volts to function properly.
Thank you for the tip! I'll take a look. After installing the bigger load eq the red key does not come on anymore. The brake light is still flashing when brake is applied in gear.

I have an 09 FXDB with the cycle visions tail. They told me to use the bigger load equalizer and NOT the one that came with the kit. The one I got from them (separate from the kit) was longer and yellow.
In regards to the constant flashing I have no idea. You should contact CV though, they should be able to help you and worst case swap out the unit.

Cycle visions told me that I should bring my bike to the dealer because there's something wrong with my bike. Pretty crappy way of dealing with the situation.
As for the red key, it went away when I installed the yellow load eq as well. They say that's for bikes with alarms but my bike does not have an alarm.

That is shitty customer service, good to know not to buy from them.
I will be tackling led in my near future, just deciding on which set up to go with. I'm fairly good with electrical stuff as my present job is building high powered led grow lights for the grow houses out here in Colorado, hopefully some of that knowledge will come in handy
Keep us posted on this mate.
