how can someone be against something when they haven't ridden it yet??
its not a softail style OR a dyna style rear suspension, its a monoshock
which has been used for years on MANY brands of motorcycles.. while YES
ITS NOT WHAT PEOPLE ARE USED TO, neither was the EVO engine when it
came out..
I say ride it first before judging, personally im hoping the handling will be
surprising

I'll be disappointed if it doesn't handle very well actually.
For all I know they could ride like a dream. My problem with the new models is the fact that I still hear too much bad **** about the Milwaukee 8, and the appearance of them. i like softails but I just don't like them enough to buy one. And I don't like the look of the smaller tanks. The street Bob is ok, but I still like the previous model better. I understand people say how can you dislike them before you ride them, but if I don't like the appearance of it, I'm not gonna try it out for a demo. I know a lot of what I don't like can be changed or upgraded but when I already have a lrs that I've customized, I can't bring myself to just start over on something that looks like a jap burner.
When I traded in my Fxdb, it was worth it cause the lrs was very similar, mostly blacked out, all my modifications fit, it had things I didn't want but grew to like like security, and, etc, it was significantly faster, and I had the option to install a 117. I had only good reasons to trade it in. With these new models, there's just no upside for me to trade it in or even demo one. The only thing I really like about the new models is they finally added a factory oil cooler (it's about ****in time right?!?!).
So as far as I'm concerned, these bikes aren't worth it for me. If you like em, go for it. That's why there are so many models cause everybody is different. I'm just good with what I've got. I think my lrs will be the last bike I buy new. Especially cause I really like the twin cam motors, and I don't really care for the m8.

if ultimate performance is what mattered, HD would be out of business and everyone would be riding a metric.
HD basically just copied the Japanese HD copies... so why would I pay 3 times as much for a bike that is still going to weigh more, still not handle as well and will ultimately have a ton of teething problems?
The new Vulcan S is a better looking bike and is only $7,500 with ABS. I would love to see Kawi drop an I4 in there and build a modern original Mertic Cruiser.

price is kinda a hard argument to make when it comes to HD because those who want a Harley and nothing else will pay the extra money. Myself included. I could have gotten a victory that was faster than my lrs for significantly less, but it wasn't a Harley. For me, HD is the only bike worth riding. As far as I'm concerned, it was worth every penny. I know others will disagree but that's why HD charges as much as they do-because they can. People will buy them anyway.
