I'm at 9.9:1 now since I'm runnin the ones from the se kit.
i refuse to do it because if i need to rebuild or something goes wrong, the parts i need are on a shelf somewhere. no waiting for stuff and mailing of parts to get worked over.

i'm running aftermarket s&s 89cc heads.

I'm not patient enough to have my bike down while I wait for parts.

Well between upping the compression, heads and cams and brakes/suspension upgrades I'd say I got a lot of thread searching to do. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I'll post whatever I end up doin.

How far are you willing to chase what other people have? If you're never satisfied with what you have... it's going to be a long, expensive road for ya.

Your questions are not what we can answer.

define satisfied lol. Am I satisfied with my current numbers? Yea sure, but I know I can do better. Once I get it dyno tuned I'll be done, so I want to get as much out of it as I can while still retaining reliability as much as possible.

dynotune... see where your bike really. cut a deal with the dealer. you have a pv, they should do it for around 250-300 since they don't need to get a 200 dollar license.

they quoted me about 350 for the dyno tune but if I'm gonna make changes I'd prefer to hold off. I'm a mechanic so money is my only real restriction here. I'd prefer to make any changes within a 1500 dollar budget if possible. Right now I'm interested in bumping up the compression a bit and possibly upgrading to s&s heads assuming they will work well with my 259 cams.

That would be a downgrade. Your stock heads are great! It'll make the power you're looking for without porting them but an inexpensive clean up and valve job by a pro would help. Have them decked to around 89cc or so to get the compression up. You'll probably need shorter or adjustable pushrods when taking material off the heads.

A 117 kit , stock heads , 58mm, and pipe will get you right around over 110 hp, and 120 + tq with a proper tune. Not too shabby. I'd make the effort to have a really good tuner put his touches on it.
