Bingo!Gotta agree with Warren; around 45 (+/-) on the country two lanes, sometimes a little less in the Hill Country. And around 70 on the highway. Damn that 6th gear is sweet!
Nothing beats 40-45 when I'm on my own on the back roads (on the Dyna, that is - on the SV650, nothing under 70 cuts it. hee hee). When I'm with a group, I prefer at least 60 - 75. I don't know - for some reason, riding slower is boring with a group (at least to me).
On the backroads as originally asked about, I'm good for 40 to 50 - depending on the road. Gives me time to safely look off and take insome ofthe scenery. On the big Road 65-70 is fine for the same reasons.
Winding country road that I know and am familiar with, could be up to 60 mph, sometimes a bit more.
I love the uphill winding roads, but if unfamiliar with them, usaully 45 mph.
Highway is the same, familiarity brings a comfort level, (even though this is bad at times).
I like the top end of 5th at 60 mph or so, but when dropped into 6th, 70 -75 mph is nice.
For grins, between 35 and 75 in 3rd and 4th gear on my favorite stretch of curvy road. On the highway, 65 to 70 in 6th gear is comfortable cruising for two.
i'm glad i've got a screen ... i ride at over 80mph 90% ... my 07 loves to have the revs up a bit.
all of you riding at 50 is cool ... i guess it explains why you all get a lot more miles out of your tires ... i just put my second set on at 9k miles.
22B ... good to see another kiwi in this section !
