I don't know, something is telling me that this will be a fun ride for the price. I'm not going to go cross country with it or anything.
I like the Softail but I feel like this will be more fun to ride in the twisties the way it is setup, especially coming from my last bike (supermoto.) I live in the mountains and would be riding on twisty roads where the speed limit is 55+ and no traffic.
If I bought this I'd just keep it forever, ride it until it blows up, and then rebuild.
You know the seller personally, so there's little point in us questioning his integrity. I'm sure if you didn't trust him, you wouldn't be considering it.
I think it's a sharp bike.
I did notice one thing. The fender struts and related mods (fender, seat, lights, shock mounts, etc.) should be carefully examined by you. (Will any other seat fit? What if the fender gets wrinkled? Can you replace a broken light? Is it strong? IS IT LEGAL?)
That's a big modification that isn't for everybody (maybe 10% of Dynaholics based on this board). That could be either good or bad depending on your point of view...even before the method and quality of the mod is taken into account.
