Default FXD starting issue

I'm helping a friend work on his 08 super glide and recently just starting having this issue. Bike will start normal, we go riding etc and then park it. When you go to restart the bike, nothing happens. He has to pull the main fuse and reinsert and then the bike will start normal. I'm guessing it's a wiring issue and something is still getting power or the ecu thinks something is still running? This just started happening the other day and is now a consistent problem. Every time you start the bike you have to pull the main fuse. Even if you only let it run for a minute and then turn it off, you have to pull the main fuse to get it to fire again. Not sure where to start troubleshooting. Any advice would be appreciated.

Does it click once? A few times? Or does literally nothing happen?

Check the starter relay first. They’re known to fail. Maybe the in rush from pulling and replacing the fuse is giving the relay just enough to operate once.

I am willing to bet it doesn't have to do with the fuse. Check the ignition contacts on the ignition switch mounted under the neck

Nothing with the starter, or nothing with the whole bike? Does the oil pressure warning light come on?
